How much housing will be built in Town Center?

The Town Center Plan allows a mix of shops, restaurants, housing, offices, and services. The buildings in Town Center will generally be at least two stories (one story buildings can be approved), with a maximum of three to five stories depending on zoning. Many future buildings are expected to include some housing on upper floors, with businesses or public-facing uses on the ground floor.

The most recent 2026 Urban Renewal Feasibility study uses assumptions that show that as many as 2,400 new housing units could be built. The 2019 Town Center Plan used different assumptions and forecasted about 1,600 units. These are planning estimates, not construction approvals or requirements. The actual number of units constructed will depend on market conditions, property owner decisions, and demand for housing and other building types.

The transportation, utility, and public infrastructure projects identified in the Town Center Plan are intended to help support future growth as it occurs, and to improve the area for current and future residents, businesses, and visitors.
