Has Wilsonville used Urban Renewal before?
Yes. Wilsonville’s first urban renewal district was established in 1992—the Year 2000 Plan. That district is now closed.
The Westside Plan, created in the early 2000s, facilitated the development of Villebois. The Westside Plan stopped collecting increment in 2024, and is pending closure. The Brown Road project will be the final project completed under that plan.
In 2016, the Coffee Creek Urban Renewal Plan was created to help fund infrastructure and facilitate industrial development in the area south of Day Road.
Urban Renewal has helped fund the construction of many public benefit projects that also enable tax base growth through private development:
Widening and improving Wilsonville Road, the Boeckman Road Corridor Project, Old Town’s 5th to Kinsman road project, Wilsonville High school sports facilities, infrastructure that enabled the development of Villebois and Lowrie Primary School, Garden Acres Road in Coffee Creek, and numerous other projects including Brown Road, under construction now.
